Don't worry, you still have time to get together your killer costume and don't forget to buy candy for Trick-or-Treater's! I don't know if you are like me and love to curl up with your favorite fright fest for Halloween night. Some Halloween's in the past have been quite disappointing if you leave your viewing pleasure to cable alone. Make sure you stock up on your favorite horror movies, along with your favorite candies, turn off the lights and get ready to scream!

PET SEMATARY (1989)

When your child is hurting from the death of their pet, you would almost do anything to help your child. But, would you bury the dead pet in a pet cemetery where the animal would physically come back. However, there are more sinister and darkness within this spiritual contract that could affect those that you love the most. There were specific scenes in this movie that haunted me for years. Stephen King is a master at wielding the story of complete horror. 

WORLD WAR Z (2013)

Brad Pitt breaths life into Gerry Lane, a husband, a father, and a kick-ass veteran United Nations operative. When the world is in ruin the UN reinstates Gerry as he races to find answers. He globe trots witnessing armies fall to the Z virus. Gerry finally solves the puzzle through intense situations that I was holding my breath during. If you love Zombie movies definitely check this one out! It's currently on Netflix and Amazon Prime for your streaming pleasure.

HALLOWEEN (1978)

A young Jamie Lee Curtis portrays teenage babysitter Laurie Strode who is babysitting on Halloween and is stalked by a psychotic murderer (who also happens to be her brother) Michael Myers. He's been hospitalized since childhood. Now he's out and causing havoc as his doctor attempts to hunt him down. If you are looking for great classic Halloween scares, definitely put this one on your list to watch this Halloween.

THE RING (2002)

This movie had me on the edge of my seat back in 2002 when it was released. It didn't help either that immediately after the movie my house phone rang sending me flying off of the seat and into an immediate panic! Why? The movie is based off of a phenomenon, a group of teenagers at a weekend cabin find a VHS tape filled with disturbing images. After the video finishes the phone rings and then you only have days before you are found dead. It's chilling and very creepy!

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984)

Another chilling movie about a psychotic killer, his name isn't mentioned in the town where he terrorizes local children within their dreams. This movie still sends chills down my spine, especially when Freddie's song plays. This is also first time screen appearance for the adorable Johnny Depp. Just a little advice - don't fall asleep!

THE CONJURING (2013)

Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson) are paranormal investigators attempting to help the Perron family as they tackle those terrifying fears that give life to what goes bump in the night. There is a sequel in the works as well as a spin-off of one of the terrorizing spirits within a horrid doll. Yikes!

THE SHINING (1980)

Based on the book by Stephen Kin, The Shining follows Torrance family as they tend and care for a grand hotel during their off season. Soon the family start to encounter weird encounters and horrifying experiences. As much as the mother (Shelley Duvall) begs her husband (Jack Nickolson) to leave, he too has experienced many disturbing experiences. He's consumed by the darkness and the chaos that ensues is a slow building climatic arch of destruction. 

INSIDIOUS (2010)

Patrick Wilson portrays Josh Lambert, who has a very unique and special gift that he has passed onto his eldest son. When his son is in danger, Mr. Lambert has to use this gift to save his son. Meanwhile, his wife (Rose Byrne) and their other child are terrorized by other spirits attempting to infiltrate their home. The sequel is available on Netflix streaming and is equally terrifying.

STEPHEN KING'S IT (1990)

Technically, IT is a TV Mini-Series that ran in 1990 when I was 13. It was the movie that generated my Coulrophobia; 24 years later and the movie still sends those chills down my spine. Many believe that the first part of the series is the most scary and fizzles out on the second half. I've never been brave enough to actually read the book but, there has been rumor that a big-screen movie is in the works for 2015.

ALIEN (1979)

Sigourney Weaver is Ripley, who is Captain of the Nostromo vessel who has been commissioned into space for a specific reason. When they receive a distress call, they investigate and unbeknownst to them, they have a bioform stowaway that may just consider them to be their snacks.

IF you are a fan of the Alien franchise and are a gamer, you have to check out Alien Isolation. Nothing like immersing yourself into a horror game to really get the shit scared out of you! Even watching the play through videos on YouTube can be quite intense and scary. It's new and exciting, definitely check it out.

Since I have recently gone through a break-up, I thought I would compile a list of torturous movies, so to remind the soul of these wonderful life experiences. I have gone to the internet asking on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ to bring you what people consider the best in break-up movies.

I love the concept of this movie, it's about two women who have been scorned by love. They decide to swap houses for the holidays. I think it's awesome that they live so far away and jump at the opportunity for that change that they need. What makes this movie magical is that both women are able to find love again.

With an all-star cast The First Wives Club combines breaking up and the complications within marriage and relationships with a power-punch trio of Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton. They're wives who want to get even with their no-good husbands. I love this movie!

Diane Lane is charming in this movie, where she suffers through a horrible divorce and is left to pick up the pieces of her life. Her friends give her a fighting chance with an epic ticket that will change her world forever. I love this movie because it doesn't show happy ever after as having Prince Charming by your side, it shows that there are more circumstances to express love and life.

What every woman wants to hear, a classic line in the movie: I like you just the way you are. These were the words that cast the spell that grabbed us all hook, line, and sinker. The movie has an amazing cast and situations that most woman can relate to as well.

I fell in love with this movie immediately. Who hasn't thought of something in our lives that we wish we could forget. But, what if we could get an entire person erased? Would we do it? This is a smart movie about the circumstances of our decisions. A must watch with or without the breakup scenario.

Top 10 Mother Inspired Movies

After compiling the list I realized the majority of the movies are based off of mother-daughter relationships. Either way, the embodiment of a mother's relationship with her children can be found in each movie. I also tried to cover a majority of genres, from dramatic to comedy, there is sure to be a pick that both you and your mother could watch together. Enjoy!

Mother's Day (2010)

Beware this is a horror flick and as fans of the genre my boyfriend and I rented this movie. It's one insane example of how a crazy mother's influences affect her supposed children. Their demented delusions break up a party among friends as they fight for their survival against the insanity of the Koffin family.

Where the Heart Is (2000)

I picked this movie because of two women's journey through their life and as mothers. The main protagonist is Natalie Portman's character, but her friend portrayed by Ashely Judd is a dynamic character as well. They both face so many challenges and through it all they remain the strong spirited mother's dedicated to providing for their children.

Brave (2012) 

There are so many memorable Disney/Pixar movies that have great mother relationships in them, some great, when not-so-great. I picked Brave because I feel that the relationship between Merida and her mother Elinor is the most realistic. The daughter that can't understand her mother and what she expects from her, her stubbornness, and their bond that saves them both.

Throw Momma from the Train (1987)

This is a hilarious romp that pits Danny DeVito with Billy Crystal. They both have a problem, one with their wife and the other with their mother and they both want a resolution... ending in death. Can they pull off their master plans?

The Family Stone (2005)

This movie might not be centered around the mom (played by Diane Keaton), but the impact of the mother within the family is the most powerful. It begins with the introduction of Sara Jessica Parker's character and how her personality clashes with the laid-back but tethered family. Why are they tethered? You'll have to watch to find out, but it is a moving and memorable experience.

Stepmom (1998)

I absolutely hated this movie when I first watched it and had no desire to ever watch it again. Why? Because of the fabulous portrayal of Susan Sarandon as a mother dealing with her mortality. I originally thought that she was a roaring bitch, when I watched it again years later I could better understand her role having been through a divorce and having to deal with another woman caring for your child.

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002)

Take the journey through a troubled mother-daughter relationship, visiting past memories, and dealing both the present and past. Again, this is an all-star cast that brings the love and charm of the family into our hearts. What I love about this movie is the demonstration within the psyche of a mother and that they're not all perfect, but they try the best that they can. 

Steel Magnolias (1989)

With this critically acclaimed assemble, get your tissues ready. I also just recently found a rendition on Netflix that is worth the look-see too Steel Magnolias (2012). Either version you can experience the journey for one mother as she helps her daughter through her wedding day, through her diabetes, a through other life challenges as well. Through everything the movies demonstrate the intricate relationships. It's an absolute must see and a personal favorite of mine.

Mamma Mia! (2008)

I love this movie for a number of reasons, but it made this list because of the portrayal of Donna (Meryl Streep). She's a devoted mother to her daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), but her past is about to bite her back. When her daughter takes action to find her father for her wedding, the chaos ensues! Add in great music and it's a win-win experience.

Eye for an Eye (1996)

Sally Field portrays Karen McCann, a mother who has just lost her daughter through tragic and horrific circumstances. This all-star cast also includes Ed Harris as Mack McCann and Kiefer Sutherland as the evil perpetrator Robert Dobb. I remember watching this when I was younger, it terrified me! However, if I remember correctly, it has an amazing ending. I'm sure if I watched it again today, that I would still have to remind myself "it's just a movie - it's just a movie".
